Medicube AGE-R: Booster Pro or Ultra Tune?
Two devices, both around three hundred dollars, both made by Medicube, both called AGE-R. It is genuinely confusing, and the product pages will not help you much because each one is written as though the other does not exist.
Here is the short version: they do different jobs. The Booster Pro is a generalist. The Ultra Tune does one thing, deeply. Which one is right depends entirely on what is actually bothering you.
The quick answer
Buy the Booster Pro if you are new to devices, you want one tool that does several things, or your concerns are spread across absorption, texture, pores and general firmness. It is the safer first purchase.
Buy the Ultra Tune if your single concern is sagging and loss of contour — jawline, smile lines, forehead — and you already have a skincare routine you are happy with. It is the specialist.

What each one actually does
Booster Pro — the generalist
Six modes in one handset. Electroporation temporarily increases skin permeability so your serums absorb better. Microcurrent stimulates facial muscles for a firmer appearance. EMS goes deeper into the muscle layer. Electric needling creates micro-channels to encourage regeneration. Then five LED wavelengths and sonic vibration on top.
The appeal is obvious — it replaces several devices. The honest trade-off is that six modes means six things to learn, and most people end up using two or three regularly. If you know you will only ever use it for one purpose, you are paying for capability you will not touch.
Ultra Tune 40.68 — the specialist
Radio frequency at 40.68MHz, which warms the deeper layers of skin to stimulate collagen, combined with microcurrent for lifting. The Dual Tune-Wave warming is gradual rather than sudden, which makes it more comfortable than RF devices that heat aggressively.
It targets one thing: loss of firmness and definition. Smile lines, forehead lines, jawline contour. If that is your concern, this does it more directly than the Booster Pro. If it is not, most of what you are paying for is irrelevant to you.
What neither of them will do
We would rather tell you this before you spend three hundred dollars than have you find out afterwards.
- Neither changes your face shape or bone structure. They affect skin firmness and how muscle sits underneath. They are not a substitute for anything surgical.
- Neither works quickly. Expect to use them consistently for eight to twelve weeks before you can fairly judge whether anything has changed. Most people who conclude a device does not work stopped at week three.
- Neither replaces sunscreen. Daily sun protection does more for firmness over ten years than any device does. If you are choosing between a device and building a consistent routine, build the routine first.
- Results are gradual and maintenance-dependent. These are not one-off treatments. Stop using it and the effect fades.
If you are still not sure
Start with the Booster Pro. Not because it is better, but because if you are undecided your concerns are probably not narrow enough for the specialist to be the right call. The generalist gives you room to work out what you actually use.
And if you are not ready to spend three hundred dollars on either — that is a reasonable conclusion. A good sunscreen, a retinoid, and two years of consistency will do more than a device used sporadically.
