Beauty of Joseon builds its formulas around hanbang, the Korean herbal medicine tradition, using ginseng, rice and hanbang botanicals in modern textures. The formulations are unusually gentle for the price, which is why we recommend the brand so often to people with reactive skin or a barrier that is still recovering.

Which line is which

  • Relief Sun and Ginseng Moist Sun — three daily sunscreens. Rice + Probiotics is the lightweight original, Aqua-Fresh is lighter and more matte for oily skin, Ginseng Moist Sun Serum is the richest and doubles as a hydrating step. All chemical filters, so no white cast on any skin tone.
  • Glow — Glow Serum is propolis and niacinamide for dullness and barrier support. Glow Deep Serum is rice and alpha-arbutin, aimed specifically at dark spots.
  • Revive — ginseng and snail mucin for elasticity and fine lines, in serum, eye serum and eye patch form. The line for mature skin.
  • Ginseng — Cleansing Oil for first cleanse, Essence Water as a watery first hydrating layer.
  • Masks — Centella for irritation, Ground Rice and Honey for gentle brightening, Red Bean for congestion.
