The GTA is one of the better places in Canada to buy Korean skincare in person, which is not saying as much as it should. Options exist, but they are scattered, and the range at any one of them is narrower than people expect.

What are your options in Toronto?
Korean grocery and department stores
The Korean supermarkets along Yonge north of Finch, and in North York and Vaughan, carry a beauty aisle. Range is limited to whatever moves quickly, usually sheet masks, a few sunscreens and the best-known cleansers. Prices are reasonable. You will not find a specific serum.
Asian shopping malls
Pacific Mall, Market Village, First Markham Place and the malls along Highway 7 have beauty counters and independent shops. Range varies enormously between vendors and month to month. Worth browsing if you are already there, not worth a dedicated trip for something specific.
Sephora and the mall retailers
Eaton Centre, Yorkdale, Square One, Vaughan Mills. Authentic, returnable, and limited to the fifteen or twenty Korean SKUs with North American distribution, at North American pricing.
Online, from Korea

How do you avoid counterfeits in Toronto?
Korean skincare is one of the most counterfeited categories going, and the GTA sees its share. Three checks:
- Look for the manufacturing date code. Korean products carry a manufacture date rather than an expiry. Missing, faded or overprinted codes are a warning.
- Compare packaging to the brand's current site. Counterfeits usually lag a formulation revision behind, so the artwork does not match.
- Be wary of unusually deep discounts on current stock. The margins in this category do not support it.
Which neighbourhood is best?
If you want to browse in person, Markham and Richmond Hill have the highest concentration of options in the GTA, followed by North York along Yonge. Downtown is thinner than you would expect for the size of the city, and mostly limited to the mall retailers.
